The Australian Antarctic Division have a range of job vacancies in Antarctica for the 2011–12 summer and the 2012 winter. Periods of employment vary depending on the type of job. If you are successful, you will be part of a team of professionals working to protect the Antarctic and Southern Ocean. You will undertake research into important areas such as the interactions between the ice, oceans and atmosphere and how these affect marine life and global weather patterns. Antarctic employment is not for everyone but if your application is successful, you will get support, training and equipment for the demands of Antarctic employment. You will be comprehensively assessed in terms of technical abilities, personal qualities and medical fitness, and fully informed about Antarctic employment to ensure that the experience is both safe and satisfying.
