Can you grow Australia’s heaviest watermelon? As part of the Yates Junior Landcare Watermelon Challenge, a free packet of Yates Candy Red Watermelon seeds will be sent to everyone who registers on the challenge website by Sunday, September 25th. The challenge is open to all children aged 16 years and under and living in Australia.

Where: Across Australia.
When: Registrations close on Sunday, September 25th. The free seeds will be sent out in October and can be planted anytime from October through to December.

It's not just playing in the dirt, it's planting native trees and exploring the natural treasures along Cardinia Creek, near Berwick, Victoria. Join Greenfleet, Parks Victoria, Birds Australia and event sponsors Hyundai, to celebrate the International Year of Forests. Enjoy the outdoors with your friends and family, and discover the treasures nature has to offer... from tree planting and nature walks, to bird watching and kids' activities. This is an important project to benefit the community and the endangered species of the area. BYO gardening gloves, drink bottle, chairs and picnic rug. A sausage sizzle will be provided. Places are limited, so don’t miss out, register today via the Greenfleet website.

Eco Baby Expo will showcase organic, natural and sustainable products and services designed for babies and their parents. Featuring organic and natural baby food and baby clothing, eco nappies, chemical-free baby care, Fair Trade toys, and ideas to help enjoy sustainable lifestyles for baby, mum, dad and our planet. Each Eco Baby visitor will receive the signature and unique Bonjour Baby Box, a highly crafted and stylish box filled with baby products, samples, and special offers, designed to help new parents make a sustainable start to their children’s lives. As part of its commitment to creating an environmentally conscious event, one tree will be planted for every paying visitor. There are also special offers for earlybird ticket sales.
This is the first ecological and sustainable event for babies and parents in Australia, however the event will soon be held twice a year in every Australian capital city from 2011.

Running for the first week of the school holidays, MarketPlace Leichhardt will feature a broad program of entertainment, workshops and displays, aimed at inspiring children and their parents about environmentally friendly living. The Enviro Expo events will teach children how to be environmentally friendly in an engaging, colourful and interactive way. The program features a diverse line-up, including eco workshops, live shows, roving performers, community programs and a children’s art exhibition. From an informative worm farm display to a solar powered video games trailer, entertaining environmental performers to Q&A booths for mum and dad, this year’s Enviro Expo offers something for everyone.
