Bear melts for World Environment Day

A touchable, life-sized statue of a hunting polar bear will arrive at Customs House Square in Sydney later this week. Coinciding with World Environment Day, this is the sixth stop on the Ice Bear’s global tour, which highlights the urgent threat of climate change to Arctic life.


In the Balance: Art for a Changing World

21 August - 31 October

Drawing on the Museum of Contemporary Art's own collection, and loans from across the country, Australian and international contemporary artists reflect on environmental debates and concerns within and beyond Australia today. Mediums from photography, film, performance, installation and architecture help to address issues including sustainability and recycling. The exhibition explores the role of community engagement and participation with projects taking place both within and outside the Museum.
