As Taronga Zoo’s Behavioural Biologist, you will manage the daily operation of the Behavioural Studies Unit including keeper requests; site wide enrichment programs; volunteer training, needs and responsibilities; as well as undertake project based research.

Reporting to the Manager, Research and Conservation, this key role will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive enrichment program and a targeted behavioural research program that helps us better understand and conserve wildlife. You will need to be a creative and innovative thinker who works well in a team and has a passion for animal welfare and conservation.

Location: Taronga Zoo, Mosman, Sydney, NSW.
Salary: Clerk grade 6.

This role will require you to establish partnerships with stakeholders that deliver water and environmental education, including Healthy Waterways’ members, community/catchment groups, environmental education centres and schools. In addition, you will attend and coordinate community events to raise awareness about waterway health issues.

The Water Resources Assessment Officer - SA NRM

The responsibilities include field investigations, reporting, providing recommendations and resolving customer enquiries on applications for Water Affecting Activity Permits and issues affecting the management of watercourses. Stormwater Officer - Tamar Estuary & Esk Rivers

NRM North is seeking a suitably qualified Stormwater Officer to join the Tamar Estuary and Esk Rivers (TEER) Program. Key duties include assisting local government and other partners to develop and implement stormwater management plans, to provide advice to local government for development application referrals and implementation of Water Sensitive Urban Design projects, and forscoping, modelling and design of stormwater treatment systems for installation. You will have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of best practice stormwater management as it applies to Tasmania and interstate; including an understanding of relevant issues and current regulations. This position is supported by funding from local government and is offered on a part time basis for an initial one year contract with further extension subject to performance and availability of funding.

Location: Launceston, Tasmania.
Salary: Salary range $50,000 - $60,000 plus super.

As a Senior Environment Protection Officer within the Waste to Resources Branch of the Environment Protection Authority (EPA), you will work with South Australia’s waste and resource recovery industry to ensure compliance with the Environment Protection Act (1993). As a licence coordinator for various waste and resource recovery facilities you will review and provide advice on environmental monitoring and technical specifications, provide advice on the management of waste to stakeholders, undertake site inspections and industry audits and work closely with the industry, local government and the community to identify and manage environmental risk. You will have a Bachelor of Environmental Sciences or Health or other equivalent degree qualification, with a strong environmental focus.
